I've found that the front case gets removed from the rear case, and all the transmission internals stay mounted to the rear case. I've removed: Input bearing retainer. Snap ring from input shaft. Reverse light switch. Getrag 260 detent springs. 10-09-2008, 10:35 PM. Tranny fluid was leaking out the cap that covers the detent springs top left rear of transmission. So, when I took off the cap there were three springs in three separate recessed holes. The cap was holding them down against 3 little balls. Upon exam, 1 spring is much shorter than the other 2 !

You really need access to a press to do it all properly, and a 30mm thin walled deep socket (I made one) to undo the output shaft nut.
